Frequently asked questions
Is the price final, or is there more to pay on arrival?
Yes. The moment you enter your dates we price the whole stay: the nights at their seasonal rates, the host’s compulsory fees, and any discount the house gives for staying longer. What you see is what you pay — nothing appears in the last step, and Travelia adds nothing of its own. Charges the host collects on arrival by law, such as the local tourist tax or a fee for a pet, are listed separately in the breakdown and marked, so you know exactly what to bring. And if the price looks steep, move your dates by a few days — the calendar prices every single night, so a cheaper week is visible at a glance.
Is there a booking fee on top?
No. Travelia charges guests no commission and no service fee — you pay the host directly, into their account. On the big portals the commission is usually folded into the price and it is the guest who ends up paying it; here the price you see is the host’s own. It also means a faster conversation: you write or call the person who knows the house, and a late arrival, a cot or a dog is settled without a middleman. Our job is that you find the place, that it tells the truth about itself and that the price is fair — not that you pay us for introducing you.
