Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to find and book a stay on Travelia — with a screen reader, with a keyboard only or with enlarged text.
Last reviewed 26 September 2026
Standard
We build the site to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.2, level AA. The same rules apply to the public site, the guest account and the host interface.
Status: partially conformant — no independent audit has been carried out yet.
How we check it
- Lighthouse automatically checks every change to the public pages; accessibility must score full marks or the change is not deployed.
- Pages work without JavaScript and can be used entirely with a keyboard, with a visible focus.
- Every page starts with a link to skip to the content; animations stop when the device asks for reduced motion.
- Texts are in six languages and every page declares its language, so a screen reader pronounces it correctly.
- Colour never carries information on its own — a state is always also a word or an icon.
What is not right yet
We know about these limitations and are working on them:
-
Map of listings and locations
The map is visual. The same information — the address, distances to places nearby and the list of results — is always also given as text.
-
Photos from hosts
We compose a photo's description from the type and place of the listing; it may not say everything the photo shows.
-
Invoices and posters in PDF
PDF files are not yet tagged for screen readers. The invoice details are also shown as a page in the host interface.
-
Texts by hosts and guests
Listing descriptions and reviews are written by people outside Travelia; we do not change their language or structure.
